About ME

CHARLOTTE STANWORTH

MY STORY

My father was an art dealer, so my childhood home was filled with paintings and restoration projects, It was in these early experiences that the smell of oil and spirits became very much infused into my psyche.

Whilst completing my bachelor’s degree in art history I spent a term studying in Rome and Florence, immersing myself in the works of the great masters, but it was after completing my masters degree in fine art that my personal style began to emerge. Also, as an accredited Psychotherapist, it is natural for me to focus on the subjective feelings beyond the scenes that I paint.

I love the limitless freedom in the colours and shapes of flowers, the powerful drama and quiet stillness expressed by the ocean and the beauty and permanence found in the land. These all symbolise for me hope and joy in an overwhelmed world.

I have many collectors of my work both in the UK and overseas. My customers appreciate owning an original oil painting. They know that each piece of art is unique and from the hand of the artist.  For a price which is often much cheaper than a mass produced print, you can own a work of art that is authentic, textured and unique.  In an original work of art, the colours are richer and true, the shadows are deeper and the textures of the brush strokes more interesting. An origianl work of art is alive!
